Sleeping Bear

We go to church from 1-4 which is tough on Sydney. She usually takes a nap when we get home. She wanted to color, so i put her up to the counter. I got busy cooking dinner. When I turned to check on her...

Pig Roast

Our neighbors across the street had a party yesterday. They made an oven in their yard and cooked a whole pig with coals. It was so good!

Potty Girl

Sydney has become a little more interested in potty training again. She sits on it every time I change her. This morning she came in my bedroom, " I waked up!". I went to use the bathroom. She followed. I noticed she was dry. I asked if she wanted to go potty. She said yes. She sat on her potty 15-20 minutes. I walked out to take my thyroid pill. When I came back she said "pooey diaper" and had her hand in her potty. She peed!!!!!! Yah! I'm so proud of her! And this time she actually understood. I let her dump it in the big toilet. She loved that. My baby isn't a baby anymore. Here are a few pics...I found this potty for $2 at a garage sale over the summer. It seems to be more comfortable for her to sit it. It doesn't have that uncomfortable upright shield for boys.
Wiping from the front, which she knows to wipe the other way, but mom was too busy taking pics and getting excited...
Yes, I did the Kate Gosselin and took a pic...I figure this may encourage her when she sees it on the computer.
I was a little too excited, so lots of blurry pics...But I had to post her dumping it herself
She tried to put it back on herself.

Washing her hands...

Sydney's Nightgown

I made Sydney's first nightgown. I still need to serge the edges so they don't fray. Other than that, it's done. I'm so grateful for my friend Heather who taught me how to make it. She was so patient, even when our kids were fighting. Sydney picked out the material herself. They have some flannel at walmart for $2.44 a yard right now. So my next one will be flannel. I actually enjoyed sewing for once! The picture isn't the best. Sydney was being a bugar, but I couldn't wait to take one. I want my mom to see it.

Boise Trip

Sydney and I drove up to Boise a few weeks ago. Sorry I'm so late blogging. This was Syndey's first road trip. She did amazing!!! WE made it all the way to Mountain Home before she got fussy. We were walking out of the gas station and she had a diarhea diaper which soaked through everything. So we went in dressed and she came out in a diaper! She was so happy after that. She continued to have those diapers the rest of the day, but it didn't faze her at all. She's just run to me and have it changed and go back to playing. We went an visit my cousin John and his wife Yvonne. Sydney brought the stomach flu with her and shared it. Everyday one of us was sick, but we still had fun hanging out. Sydney warmed up to John and Yvonne instantly. It was nice.
Sydney has been growing up so much these last few weeks. She's putting so many words together and making sentences. She struggles with a few letters, but I can understand most of what she says. When she has her "babytalk days", it's so frustrating now. Her newest thing is "I do it, or I'll do it." Boy can she get demanding with that one!She wasn't on her normal schedule there. I let her do whatever. It's kinda hard to make her go down for a nap in strange place.
Sydney loved sitting up on a big chair all week!
Good old Walmart!
She was in heaven playing in the dirt. She really doesn't have any dirt in our yard to play in.
My favorite!

My cousin has two great brittanys. One is older and not a kid dog. THis one is a rescue dog they got a few years ago and he did great with Sydney. We had to keep reminding her which dog was which!
She loved playing at the playground!
John has a lot of tomato plants in his garden. The smoky ones are the best. He is six feet tall. This plant is probably close to eight.
Yvonne and John
Someone thought they could drive the John Deere!

Monster Truck

We went to the Monster Truck Jam after the 5k. Sydney Loved it! It was at the new soccer stadium, Rio Tinto. Amazing!!! We sat in the $10 seats and had an awesome view!We borrowed some headphones from my friend for Sydney. She didn't like them at first.
It didn't take long for her to figure out that they were a good thing.

Someone got spoiled!

Escalade was awesome in the freestyle. I don't know if you can see his steering wheel sticking out of his front window or not, but he did tons of donuts without it. It rocked!!!
I love Gravedigger, but he didn't perform as well in the freestyle. But as usual he won it. The same thing happened last time we went when they came through.

Another 5k

Jason ran another 5k two Saturdays ago. I know that I'm behind again. Sometimes it's hard to find the time to blog. He did awesome. It was up Provo Canyon at Mt. Timpanogos Park. We couldn't have asked for a more gorgeous morning. There was a nice breeze in the air. The race was and up and down on the trails. He placed 5th in his age group and 20th overall, at 24:48:05 minutes. We are proud of him!
More bouncing...I'm so glad they've had these at the past few races.
Jason and Sydney before the race
Stretching with daddy! It was so cute when Sydney followed her dad.
He's off!
Finishing...
This time I made sure he went and got his free massage before it got too busy.
Sydney loves to listen to her daddy's shuffle. They had a breakfast of french toast and fruit.
