Rattle Time

I am so proud of Sydney. She actually took the rattle from me yesterday and shook it a few times. I was so excited, I nearly cried. I had to call my mom and tell her. After I got off the phone, I realized how silly I sounded, but oh well. I'm a first timer. One more exciting thing happened. Sydney slept five straight hours last night. Yeah!!! I woke up at two and had to make sure she was breathing! I hope she sleeps like that more often. I couldn't blog without a picture. Sydney got this hat from her Aunt Stephanie for Christmas.

Christmas

Christmas was so fun this year, being that it was Sydney's first. Jason's parents' and sister Stephanie came over for lunch on Christmas Eve Day. We had our traditional German Coldcuts. They were so good!!! Then we went to Nephi Christmas Eve for Grandma Bateman's traditional clam chowder. It started to snow as we headed down there. Inside the Spirit prompted me to turn back around, but as usual, I didn't listen. So we ended up getting snowed in and had to spend the night. It was so blizzardy. We couldn't see in front of us and the wind was strong. We almost made it to the freeway. We turned around and slept at Jason's parent's house. We went to Grandma Bateman's in the morning for the tradional breakfast casserole. It was so good!!! Then we headed home around 10am. I have to admit something. Even though I was sad about sleeping in Nephi, we had a lot of fun. We came home to a driveway of snow to shovel. After that, we got cleaned up and opened presents. We decided to try out our dvd camcorder and record this special occasion. That was interesting. One minute Jason thought it was recording and it wasn't. Then he thought it wasn't, and it was. He got it figured out and we got most of it on tape. I had Sydney on my lap opening presents. After a few, she was pretty bored. Jason suggested I put her in the swing and she was happy the rest of the time. Of course she fell asleep before we were done opening presents. Jason's parents' got Sydney a Winnie the Pooh stuffed animal, just like his Grandma got him for his first Christmas. She loves Pooh! Sydney got so spoiled this year!

Christmas Sunday

This is before church Sunday. Our tree is tiny, only 4 ft. I wasn't able to find a taller one I liked. The fur in front of us is sheepskin we got from my mom for Christmas. It is huge! And sooo soft!

Sydney Hits Toys!

I should have posted this before her 2 month one, but I forgot. Last week, Sydney figured out how to use her hands and hit her toys hanging on her bouncer seat. It was so cute!!! She also loves her mobile in her crib. It puts her in a trance. This probably isn't a big deal for most, but everything is exciting to me as a new mom.

2 Months Old!

Sydney turned 2 months old yesterday! We went to the fun Dr. and had 4 immunizations. At least one was a liquid to drink. I held her while the Dr. was on one side and the nurse on the other. They both poked on the count of three. She screamed bloody murder when those needles went in. It broke my heart! My poor baby girl! I felt horrible. We gave her Motrin twice yesterday. She was pretty sore. She slept most of the afternoon. She's a little sore today, but much better. She now weighs 11.4 lbs. and is 23 inches long.

Sydney's 3/6 month Outfit

Sydney has outgrown most of her 0-3 month clothes. This is a 3/6 month outfit. My girl is getting so Big! Tomorrow is her 2 month appt. Then we'll see how big she really is.

Daddy & Sydney

Jason is such a good daddy. He adores Sydney! Everyday when he gets home from work, he gets Sydney and plays with her. If she's sleeping, he asks how long she's been sleeping and if she is waking up soon. He's like a little kid waiting. I am so grateful for marrying such a wonderful man.

Smiley

I had to share. We sat Sydney up on the couch to get a picture of her smiling. Instead, she stuck her little tongue out!!! She is such a blessing in our life. She certainly keeps us smiling!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was fun this year. We went down to Nephi and had dinner at Grandma's. It was sooo delicious! After dinner we played board games and hung out. We played uno attack. What a fun game! One game lasted 3 hours!!! Jason's dad was so funny! He was always making sure we weren't changing the rules on him. I can't remember the last time I laughed so much! Jason, Aunt Julie and Grandma took care of Sydney the whole time except for when I fed her. It was so nice. Jason is very good about taking care of her when we are out and about. I can always just relax and enjoy myself.

One Month Old

Sydney is one month old today!!! Yah!!!

Halloween

Even though Sydney was only going to be a week old, Jason insisted on taking her to a pumpkin patch and carving a pumpkin with her. He's one proud daddy!!!

Sydney's Birth

The greatest thing we are thankful for, is the birth of our first child, Sydney Jordan. Let me start with pregnancy. It was great. I had morning sickness the first four months or so and again the last few weeks. Morning sickness wasn't bad at all. I kept a positive attitude abou it. I told myself that it was part of the package. Jason would get frustrated when he'd take me out to eat and I'd run up the stairs as soon as we got home and throw it up. The only time I was uncomfortable, was the last two weeks. I struggled to find a comfortable position to sleep in. I got blessed with morning sickness the last few weeks. It sure is different throwing up when you are so big! Her due date was October 17th. I had my last Dr.'s appt. the day before. I was only dialated to a one and no contractions. My Dr. set me up fot the non stress test at the hospital the next day because my blood pressure was 130/82. It had been low the entire pregnany till then. I passed that test and had another one the following Monday, the 22nd. I failed that one and was admitted. Being induced was one thing I didn't want, but she doesn't didn't want to come on her own. I started the potossum at 6am on the 23rd. After only 57 minutes of pushing, our .little Sydney arrived. That was the most amazing experience. That was the closest I ever felt to God. Jason was one proud daddy! He held her for almost 1/2 hour before I even got to. I felt so close to him. It was a great joy watching him bond with Sydney.

Creating Blog!!!

My friend Sunny emailed me her link to her blog today, so I decided that I better make one too. I kept saying I was going to when our daughter was born, but I haven't had the time. I look at other friends' family blogs constantly and keep saying I'm going to do it, but never do. Bear with me. This will be a learning process for me. I am so grateful for the technology we are blessed with today. The internet is a wonderful thing. It's been a real blessing for my mom and I. She lives 900 miles away and isn't able to visit. So I've been sending pics to her weekly of Sydney. I had to name it Parkin alace because Jason calls us his Princess and Queen. I am only going to try to catch up to her birth in October. I hope everyone can enjoy this!
