Dirt Girl

Thursday night I cut the lawn. When I was doing the backyard, I didn't pay a lot of attention to Sydney since the gate was closed. I found her in a bare patch of grass by the rocks. She loves the dirt!

Fountain

Sydney and I went with our friends to the library yesterday. It was the last summer activity. They made some musical instruments. Afterwards, we walked over to the fountain. As Heather asked me if I it was okay for Sydney to get wet, she sat in the fountain. Sydney and Emmett had so much fun!

Corn

Sydney enjoyed her first piece of corn. She was so proud to eat it herself!

New Bed

Jason and his friend Even put Sydney's bunk bed together SAturday night. Every night is getting a little better putting her down. It takes an hour. Putting her down for naps is tough! I miss the crib, when I could lay her down and say night night. Then she'd go to sleep on her own.

First Ear Infection

Sydney had a fever two Sunday nights ago. The fever was completely gone by Wednesday. She also has had a runny nose since then. Jason stayed home with her Sunday. I thought she just had a runny nose and I didn't want to share that with nursery. Then yesterday she was complaining her ears were hurting and she screamed on and off for an hour and a half. She started to hold her ears last Wednesday, but I didn't think anything of it. She would hold her hands over them, like when you hear a loud noise. I thought it was a new game or something. Anyways, we went to the doctor this morning and she has an ear infection in each ear, worse in the right. I got her a prescription and she seems better. Here's a cute pic of her in her a dress we found at a garage sale for a buck. It was a little overpriced, but I couldn't pass it up.

Counting Cars

Sydney was counting 3-2-1 while she was playing. It was so cute. She's got a book called "Bert's Bedtime Story". At the end the Count, counts sheep backwards from 10 to 1. As soon as I got the camera out she would only say 5-6. The video is kinda long...

4th of July

Our morning started at 5am. We were out of the house by 6:07am. Jason ran his first 10k at 7:00. He did great! We are so proud of him. Then we met up with some friends for the Grand Parade. They got there at 3am to get us a good spot. We are so grateful.. Sydney loved it. Then we had a BBQ that night at our house. We lit a few fireworks, but the winds picked up.
While Jason ran, we were able to get a good view of the balloons. Sydney wanted to get them.

Jason did awesome. He finished in 56:33.
I love this new backpack we found. She likes it most fo the time. It is great to keep her close to me when we are in the library.
Sydney had tons of fun with her friend Emmett. They loved spraying everyone. Sydney thinks it is also her personal drinking fountain.
We been to too many parades. She now thinks it's okay to play in the streets.
Sydney loves dill pickles. She could live on them if I let her.

WE finally got to put together and use our picnic table my mom bought us last summer.

Twin Mattress

Sydney was waking herself up at night in her crib. She needed more space. She's a wild sleeper. I was the same way at that age. So we went out and bought a bunk bed. She's been sleeping on the mattresses only for the past two weeks. She loves having a big girl bed. She has no interest in the crib anymore. However, it's been A ROUGH ADJUSTMENT. She wants mama to sleep with her. She has fallen off a few times. I"m wondering if that has scared her. I've been thinking about getting her a night light. I"m going crazy at night. It is so hard to get her down now. And now she wakes up in the night. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
