Growing Up Too Fast!

K is growing up way too fast! K finally climbed out of her crib 5 days ago during nap time. I put her back down 50+ times. I gave up after 1/2 hour. To days ago the girls woke up at 5:45 and walked into my room together. That was the 1st time she climbed out since the first episode. After nap time today she climbed out and walked out to the dinner table today.S was already 4 when she got brave enough to climb out of the crib. Her dad use to put her in there for timeouts.I'm so not mentally ready to put her in the big bed. I'm not ready for two girls to get up all night and play!!! The other day K was so funny when she was pouring a few drops at a time from the water bottle to her cup. She wants to be big like us and drink out of the big cup. So we give her the big cup during meals or whenever she helps herself to one!

I put hot rollers in my hair yesterday. It felt so good to do it with shorter hair.

I plugged them in this morning to do it again for church, but S wanted hers done instead. She really was happy. She just has her moments with all the photos mom takes.

By the time sacrament meeting was over, the curls flattened out a bit from the weight of her hair, but she was still gorgeous!

K woke up before 6:00. What a buggar! I sent Jason in to wake up S, who was not at all ready to wake up.

S had that ball mastered by the end of the night. I wanted to get her one last year, but she still wasn't quite tall enough.

Even though there were presents to open, S still wanted to take out the doll playhouse from her G & G.

My mom made new stockings for Jason and I. It was so hard to keep it a secret from Jason. So Santa put the new ones under the old ones. For once Jason was surprised. He really thought my mom would never make him one because I told him that he had to ask, but he refused.

I made the three of them plated this year.

This Rudolph sang it's song when you pressed on the ear. It was her favorite present. She ran around playing with it all day. She got it from friends of ours.

I got Jason this "Cootees" cd he begged for. I could only find it on Amazon. He loved it. Too bad it was blank! ARG!

S's sunbeam teacher Sister Carter made the girls snow hats.

This is what I got! Jason had our neighbor draw it with charcoal. The eagle represents my dad. The flag is my uncle. They are flying out of the storm of this life into the next brighter life. As soon as I opened it, I said I wouldn't cry, but I did. I love that it's all done in charcoal!

Christmas Eve

Debbie and I took the girls up to SLC in the morning to get our German food and rolls. Later that evening, we headed down to Nephi to Grandma Bateman's. We had her traditional clam chowder. Yummy!

G & G also got them a dollhouse. I didn't let them open it there for fear of losing the pieces. They actually didn't ask much to open it. I was so proud of them.

We gave Grandma Bateman a book. She gave us a ham. I sliced, cubed and froze it. Awesome!

It was late, but the girls were so good. I took the house out of the box and let them play till nearly 10.

S said to take a picture because her pillow pets were a family now with the babies. I love how that girl is so into the concept of family. She cracks me up!

I love this one! We had a carrot and pb/chocolate cheerios for the reindeer and two cookies for Santa.

Tada! I don't know if I'll ever make this recipe again. It was made with applesauce, but still asked for sugar and the sticky dough was hard to work with. We even refrigerated it overnight.

Our beautiful princess had her first dance recital tonight. She told me that she'd be shy in the car, but not there. She got to sit in the back with her class until she was done with her two numbers. She did "Jack in the Box" and "When Christmas Comes To Town" from Polar Express. She did fabulous! She didn't want to sit with us after she was done performing, but had to so other dancers could have those seats. It was so cute. I'm so proud of her! It was way too long for Jason to sit through. Next time we'll be taking two cars.

My friend Tonja invited us to go see the lights at Temple Square last night. It was so much fun. WE ate dinner at Sweet Tomatoes and then caught trax up there. The girls loved riding the train! Taking two stroller was a bit crowded for the train, but so glad we had them up in SLC.

We went to Jason's Grandma Bateman's for Thanksgiving. We had a blast! The weather was fantastic. Jason's Uncle Craig took the girls to the park even.I brought the DVD player. K was so protective of it. She kept pushing her cousin Braxton away and yelled no at him if he walked near it. It was hilarious!

I now Jason's mom appreciates this one!

Woke up to a few inches of snow...

All ready to play! K wasn't too fond off all the clothing, but was over it by the time we got outside.

The snow was a little wet, but perfect for sledding, once we made a path!

K loved it! She kept laughing every time she went down or just her sister or me. IT was so cute!

We attempted a snowman. Thankfully a four year old doesn't have high expectations!

I asked S if she was eating the yellow snow. She said no and laughed.

After a while K pulled off her gloves and refused to wear them. It didn't take her long to feel why I put them on her in the first place. I'm so mean to take of picture like this!

K had a tough time bringing the sled up this way. She kept tripping up, but she was bound and determined. We spent 2 1/2 hours out in the snow this morning. It was so worth it. I'm hoping that it helped break up up K's terrible cough/cold that started yesterday. All three of us got good naps in this afternoon. It was nice after being up with K so much last night.

It didn't take K long to figure out how easy it was when she just chilled in the stroller.

I allowed the girls to eat whatever. They were in heaven.

Jason had to work, so he wasn't able to go trick or treating. We hung out at our friends house who were serving scones. They were yummy. The girls loved running wild! We were blessed with a pretty decent night weather-wise. Loved it!

My friend had a big party for her eight year old's birthday/baptism. Because she made some homemade pinatas, I was able to make some too. We made two. The kids loved them1 So much better than those stupid overpriced cardboard ones!

We went to the pumpkin patch today. I love this tradition!

They had a short hay maze and a tall one. Sydney loved running in the big one, but I went crazy not being able to see exactly where she was at!

Kimberly is 18 Months!

It's hard to believe 18 months have already passed by! Kimberly is such a different child than Sydney. She doesn't say many words, but she sure is always thinking. She gets mad when I dress her because she wants to do it. Whenever there are clothes or shoes around, she's trying to put them on. She loves to put on sister's shoes and walk around in them. She learned the stairs a month ago. She loves to throw things, especially balls. She seems to favor her right hand. She sits up at the big table already and does quite well with a fork and spoon. I weened her from nursing a week ago. She was easy! One day it was ten minutes at night. The next day it was a sippy of milk and momma singing songs. I love being able to lay her down awake, say night night and shut the door. Sydney has also enjoyed this new singing time in the dark. It has been good for all of us. Kimberly continues to be a climber. It gets worse everyday. She thinks that she belongs on the kitchen table! Thankfully she hasn't figured out how to climb out of the crib! Her dad gets frustrated with the no talking thing, but I understand everything. She is finally interested in talking, but it will take time. She loves to be a big kid and get into all of Sydney's stuff. It's a lot different when there is an older sibling to teach her! She loves to go out side and especially bye bye in the car! Kimberly is a joy in our lives and we love her so much!Stats

WA Trip 1

The girls, my friend Debbie and I took a trip up to WA back in August. I've been dreading posting pics because I can't choose. So here are tons!!!We stopped in Brigham City to see the temple being built. So beautiful! Sydney was impressed, but Kimberly was just happy to get out of the car!

Kimberly is finally eating another fruit. She has a thing with textures of fruit. She only eats bananas, strawberries, grapes, apples (she still chokes on those sometimes), and now watermelon. Yeah!!!! I keep trying my home canned peaches, but still a no go. To think she loved them as a baby! Same ones, just pureed. Occasionally she'll eat a bite or two of applesauce. It makes me think how lucky I was that Sydney ate everything!

I already missed getting one a the start because I didn't get up on the hill in time due to Sydney's potty break. I was pretty stressed, but he is in this picture. He's between the red, white and blue girl and the left orange girl.

After Jason and Kimberly were sleeping, I took Sydney to the neighbors to watch their fireworks. She did okay at the Drapers, but plugged her ears. She did better at the Carters. She even held a sparkler and thought it was cool!

Apparently McDonald's has moved up in the world as far as the play area goes!

Kimberly spent almost the whole time on this little slide. She Loved it!

The piano slide sounded like one. It was cool.

Kimberly didn't like Ronald, but she kept wanted to go back and touch him while she was in my arms. She'd touch his nose and just laugh.

Another toy Kimberly didn't like!

After lots of coaxing, Kimberly finally went down the slide, but only once!

Freedom Festival

I took the girls to the freedom festival booths in Provo this morning. I was hoping to beat the heat. There is a free kid section. It usually has two bounce houses and free crafts.We got there a little before ten and got an awesome parking spot. My Sydney insisted on taking a picture in front of this sign. I think I've taken a few too many pictures when she is making this type of request. It was so cute though.
One booth had a huge snake ( which Sydney had NO interest in touching), a tortoise and a bunch of birds. Sydney thought the tortoise was pretty cool.

The girls Loved the bounce houses! It was a blast watching Kimberly trying to stay standing.

There was a trailer of sand called "A Day at the Beach". The kids loved it. Unfortunetly, it was in the beating sun. After about 25 minutes we were dripping with sweat. So we called it a day. By then it was nearly noon and the crowds were starting.

I put Kimberly on the horse for the first time. She hated it. It worked out since Sydney didn't want to share.

Lindon Pool

I took the girls to the Lindon Pool, first of the summer. They were both still free, but since Sydney wasn't 4 yet, she had to wear a swimmie diaper. Good thing I bought the bigger size when she was younger. I got to use that size on both of them. They loved the pool. I had a friend come along that has no kids which was great. We each had a kid.I found this on KSL for only 3 bucks used, but in like new shape.

Sydney graduated to a ring and arm floaties. She loved them and felt so big!

This was on the lazy river after she got a bucket of water dumped on her.

Same with Kimberly...

There were two small slides she could do herself which she loved. There was a bigger kid one that Debbie took her on. She loved it! She had to wear a life jacket. I wish I would have got some pictures.

Too cool!

We went to a Chinese buffet after. Sydney loves her ice cream ans sprinkles. She was drinking it.

Sydney's New Dress

I found Sydney a cute dress at a yard sale yesterday. It only cost 25 cents! Then they threw in a bathing suit for free, which will fir her next year. Sydney insisted i take a picture of her. She was so excited to wear it to church today. It's a little big, but then it will last longer. What would we do without yard sales?!

Father's Day

We went down to Jason's parents for a fathers day bbq. Due to naps and events of the day, we got down there around 5:00. By then everyone had ate and left. So we just sat and ate with Jason's parents and one grandma. It was still great food and the girls always enjoy spending time there.No surprise... We had to wake grandpa up to give him his gift.

When we were leaving to head down to G&G's house, Sydney told dad that we got him a shirt. I said, "No, that's for Grandpa". She responds with, "No mom, the other one." Gotta love her! She did so good at keeping his birthday stuff a secret. We got Jason a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle shirt that Sydney picked out herself. I didn't get a picture tough.

Cicily's Birthday

I took the girls across the street to their friend Cicily's 3rd birthday party. They had so much fun. She had a bounce house and a pinate.

I just love this picture!

The small kids didn't have a chance breaking it with the pvc pipe. A nine year old got a good hit on the head. An adult ended up pulling it apart and the kids went crazy. After a sandwich bag full, I told Sydney that was enough, and she was happy.

Kimberly licked the sucker right side up the first few times. Then she did the upside down thing and then back to normal.

Kimberly loved playing on their slide. She actually came home with two slide burns on her back.

Utah Hogle Zoo

I took the girls to the zoo on Monday. My friend Debbie came along and was a great help. We had perfect weather. It was overcast the first two hours, then a bit sunny the last 1 1/2. Monday was a perfect day to go. There weren't a lot of people there. It started to fill up after lunch, but we were gone by 1:45.A portion of the zoo was under construction. So they had this neat play area for the kids. Sydney loved it. She didn't want to leave it. She said she was "doing lots of hard work". I love that girl!

Kimberly was mostly in the stroller, but enjoyed the times when I let her walk around.

It was so fun to watch the elephant get her food out of the net. It was also fun seeing all the baby animal. This elephant was 18 months old already.

This elephant statue is huge! Sydney tried to coax Kimberly to walk under it, but she wouldn't because it makes an elephant sound. It also spits water out of its trunk.

I guess I'm as big as an male adult gorilla... Time to lose some weight!!!

I can't help but notice how endowed this gorilla is. I didn't notice till I downloaded the pictures.

Yeeee Haaaa!

They had a special dinasaur exhibits around the zoo. Some of them spit water out of their mouth. Sydney liked it the first time, then almost cried every time we walked b it. Silly!

Where's my little girl! Sydney has grown up so much this past year.

Gotta love the highly chlorinated moving ball! Kimberly loved it! I remember Sydney being terrified of it when we took her to the zoo a few years ago and she was older than Kimberly is now.

This was at the discovery zone playground. I told Sydney that it was a spider and she said, "No mom, it's a chair". Of course! Silly me!

Kimberly loved playing in the tortoise shell.

The Lord has away of humbling us and literally stopping us in our tracks. Before we left, I had some struggles with Sydney and spanked her a few times. When I was on my way out to the car, I kissed the concrete. I honestly think I tripped over my own feet. As I rolled onto the grass in a ball, I had a little conversation with the Lord and resolved to be a better parent and more patient with Sydney. Late that night, two sisters from my ward called and gave me some good advice and brought me up. The Lord really knows me and looks out for me. It amazes me everyday!
